Smiling And Insomania

March 25, 2008

Smiling and insomania? What is the connection will you ask.

There is a little technique which can help you to fall asleep faster.

When you can’t sleep you turn from one side to the other and again and again, don’t you?

These movements keep you awake. And that you do it with a grim face doesn’t improve the situation.

So next time you can’t sleep, try to put a smile on your face and lie motionless. (The position is too unconfortable? Well, you can turn but do it in a calm and peaceful way that your body knows you want to sleep)

While you smile think about beautiful memories or pictures and expect to fall asleep without force.

Surely, your success depends on how seriously you try it. Only keeping one minute quiet won’t help you.

Therefore, other tips for a good and fast sleep:

- use your bed only for sleeping that your brain and body know when you go into bed it is time to sleep

- keep your sleep room dark and quiet (for kids it is fun to build a little, dark cave)

- set the temperature between 17°C-20°C

- Say to you: I am sleeping, I am sle..e..p..p..i..i..ing.. I.. am.. sl..ee..pi..nnng .. you know, just in the way you would say it when you are almost asleep. Remember the “fake it until you make it”. It works here too!

It would be great to hear your experiences or if you add further solutions.

Have a good sleep with smiling dreams,

Mira =)
